Parked up permanently in a secluded spot on Dunston Road, Haggerston, Seth Troxler’s summer time venture, Smokey Tails is back for good.
Riding the wave of success from his pop-up in Hackney Wick, Troxler has made the commitment to barbequed meat and dance floor beckoning music by signing for a 3 year residency.
Still serving up the sought after barbeque flavours, this season’s menu offers a heartier version of the summer’s delights, along with some newly welcomed vegetarian options too.
The pan smoked brisket comes with a wealth of smokey flavours which are perfectly balanced by a side of roasted sweet potatoes, dressed in lemongrass crème fraiche with chilli and coriander. They also serve an over flowing, hickory wood smoked, pulled pork brioche bun, which is jam packed with pickled red cabbage.
No barbeque is complete without chicken, and at Smokey Tails the chicken comes wood smoked in either a buffalo or BBQ sauce and rumour has it the BBQ sauce uses a secret recipe that’s been passed down in the Troxler family for generations.
Dance floor fuel come in the form of mac ‘n’ cheese or if you’re looking for something lighter side the coleslaw is a great shout and is large enough for the whole table to share.
Chewing to the beat, Troxler and his friends will be playing the music you want to hear. The sublime array of indigestion inducing tunes will cover everything from juicy disco, right through to raspy reggae and just when you think you can’t stay sat down any longer there’s a dance floor, just over there, with enough room to swing a couple of your trendiest cats.
After you’ve sampled the goods from the grill you’re strongly advised to dive into a portion of sticky toffee pudding, which comes ladled in butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream. The pudding menu also offers a dark chocolate mousse, which handily comes in a martini glass, making it an ideal desert for any discerning and multitasking dancer.
It’s cold outside – but it’s warm In here, so whilst you’re at the bar grab a frozen margarita or if you’re looking for a post BBQ beer, Smokey Tails have a number of independents on tap as well some unique, dosey doe- ing guest ales.
Seth will of course be popping in and out of both the DJ booth and the kitchen, so keep your eyes on their Facebook page to be the first in the know.
Making a seamless transition from the decks to the grill it seems, Seth Troxler has produced another smash hit.
