Now the longest day has long past, you like me should be savoring every last dreg of summer. Dissecting it’s seasonal flavours and treasuring each of it’s joyous components – much like how a ten year old would each a Jaffa cake…
Glorifying all things summer, Floridita in Soho, are savoring a little bit of that sun at “Rum Island” the new designated spot for sipping back on that pirate juice.
X- marks the spot, just downstairs from the pan-Indian restaurant and cocktail bar Carom.
Upon our visit, we were escorted to the love bed/chair (don’t fall asleep) and presented with a drinks book (it was much bigger than a menu).
Sunshine goodness was readily available and came served long and over ice.
With a whole host of twists, turns and two steps on a Daiquiri even the most conservative guest could find something to their liking.
My guest and I sampled some real corkers. Starting with the rum based drinks, we sampled a Jamaican Daiquiri (which was so authentic it may as well have had dreads) and a firey Fuego Manzana. Then for desert (liquid diet of course) a sleek French 75 and a stiff Caribbean Negroni.
Open until you start seeing those dreaded back to school signs in September, Rum Island promises all the sunshine goodness of boy George’s Club Tropicarna (lairy shorts optional).
