This Christmas, Edible Cinema and Bombay Sapphire® have teamed up for a festive screening of American comedy ‘Trading Places’ at the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill on the 21st and 22nd of December.
Guests will be treated to an edible adventure through the film, where experiences will range from tasting the stolen salmon in Santa’s beard, smelling success with pork belly and even imagining what a gorilla’s kiss might feel like.
On arrival, guests will receive an imaginatively inspired “Alexandra Kellogg’s” cocktail combining Bombay Sapphire, Crème de Cacao, cornflakes infused in milk and syrup, all served in a tea cup and garnished with a sprinkling of cornflakes – inspired by the film’s opening scene.
With its rags-to-riches plot and setting of snowy Philadelphia, this 1983 classic is sure to fire up the festive spirit. The concept enhances the film using taste, aroma and texture to heighten the viewers’ sensory experience of the film’s most famous scenes, accompanied by a series of bespoke and imaginatively created cocktails. Each guest receives a selection of numbered boxes at the start of the film, which they will be instructed to open and enjoy at certain points throughout, offering a multi-sensory cinema experience.
This year Edible Cinema is a collaboration between Soho House chef Jake Rigby Wilson, Soho House events manager Zoe Fletcher, renowned experience organiser Polly Betton and Bombay Sapphire mixologist Sean Ware. Tickets vary from £32 for an armchair seat, or £64 for a sofa.
