Us Brits, are mad for a sandwich. Sarnies with chips in (that’s butties duh), dainty little ones stacked high for afternoon tea and organic, low gluten, low carbon footprint, avo’ on rye combo if you’re feeling all Hemsley and Hesmley.
Another duo who aren’t shy of a sarnie are Cutter & Squidge. Sandwiching two biscuity/cookie/cake discs around a thick layer of butter cream they have created the biskie – which isn’t really a conventional sandwich at all.
So what exactly does a biskie taste like? Well they tell me it’s a “The biskie has a unique texture of crisp, soft, chewy and lusciously melty, as well as being a luxurious flavour fiesta in your mouth” and if youre not sold already they have switched out half of the bad gubbins i.e sugar and butter, and switched it up for flavoursome fresh fruit.
However even more important than how they taste is how they look – these are the most showbiz cookies in town. Covered in gold leaf or pack with a torched s’mores and even scattered with flowers they look as delicious as they taste.
Popping up on Brewer Street for just a few weeks, the time is nigh and what better excuse to visit than to pick up their alternative to an Easter egg.
