As shoe lovers of every kind, we are super excited by Clarks contemporary take on classics with their new premium brogues collection which includes five colour ways across two styles. The exclusive capsule collection was created to celebrate their 190th anniversary – there’s a limited 200 pairs per line globally with just 90 pairs per colour being sold in the UK.
Inspired by Clarks incredible archive of over 22,000 styles, Clarks discovered the shoemaker had been manufacturing Goodyear Welted shoes since the 1940s. The current collection was influenced by man-tailoring trend and the Watlington and Saddle were selected as the two styles to re-invent. The Watlington is a twist on the classic brogue and the Saddle was a style that was worn by Queen Elizabeth during a tour of South Africa in 1967.
Bancroft Clark had written about “the genius of the welt process” and this has been an essential detail in the new designs and craftsmanship.
We have our beady eyes on the silver, red and mono ones…The hand crafted brogues are part of a capsule collection designed in England and made in England for Summer 15 and will retail at £295 each. Available to buy exclusively online here very soon – we can’t wait!
