The team behind Camberwell Love is looking to raise the bar in the capital’s culinary expectations, with 30 years combined experience in the restaurant trade, head chef James Cochran has a wealth of influences to bring to the table.
With over 14 years’ experience in the kitchen, 10 of them professionally, James is ready to move to the head of the kitchen with his own unique menu. Beginning his professional career at double Rosette awarded Wheelers in Whitstable; James went on to win Young Seafood Chef of The Year in 2002. He then moved on to Reads in Canterbury, one of only two Michelin star awarded restaurants in Kent.
James then moved to London, into the kitchen of Notting Hill’s The Ledbury, where he spent three years. During his time at the critically acclaimed Ledbury, the restaurant was awarded its second Michelin star and rose to the 2nd best restaurant in England and 13th best restaurant in the world under head chef Brett Graham. Now Sous chef in Fulham’s Harwood Arms, London’s only Michelin star awarded pub, James has decided he is ready to take the lead in his own kitchen.
Camberwell Love will bring styles and influences from James’s background, right from the beginning with his own twist on 7 classic British dishes. This is not to be missed.
