Friends and film enthusiasts Bridget Arsenault and Fatima Martinez-Moxon decided they wanted to mix red-carpet glamour with independent cinema, bringing us The Bright Young Things Film Club. Together with the May Fair Hotel, they deliver elegant film screenings of young and up-and-coming filmmakers along with insiteful Q&A’s featuring the cast and crew.
Last week, the BYT Film Club gave us an exclusive screening of the feature film UWANTME2KILLHIM? Upon arrival we were served delicious bellini cocktails of Scavi & Ray Prosecco with Peach CIROC Ultra Premium Vodka in a dark corner of the grand hotel. Just before the film was to start we were offered an array of Green & Black’s Organic Ice Cream before taking our seats in the Mayfair Hotel’s lavish screening room. But the tasty treats didn’t end there; each seat was decorated with Propercorn popcorn along with Unoco Coconut Water.
The film itself is a true life story, first reported in Vanity Fair, the club’s media partner. It follows a 16-year-old and his infatuation with a girl he meets online that leads him to commit a devastating crime that made British legal history. Previous screenings featured films Sweet Dreams and Afternoon Delight.
