For one weekend in March Belazu are taking over The Doll’s House in Hoxton Square and creating an authentic Moroccan dining experience. The converted warehouse in Hoxton Square will be turned into a full sensory experience as the aromas of traditional cooking envelop you.
There will be two sittings per night and £20 of the ticket price will go to the Belazu foundation, each donation will be matched by the foundation and go towards the educational needs of children, both in England, and Morocco’s Atlas Mountains.
The evening will be kicked off by cocktails on arrival and maybe a chance to explore the space, spread over three levels with an array of rooms and bars.
The hearty meal will include a a colourful starter of seven mezze dishes including cumin and pickled cauliflower, hummous with green harissa, zesty maroc olives and a skinless tomato salad… we are intrigued. The main course will be a choice between a slow braised lamb shank in red wine and mint with barley couscous, kamut, green freekah and roasted vegetables, or for a vegetarian offering there is a tajine with roasted aubergine, pistachio, lemon yoghurt and pomegranate molasses
To finish there is Amlou (Argan oil, honey and almond) ice cream, and what Moroccan night would be complete without lashings of mint tea and strong coffee… yummy.
